Dark sour cherry color with very slightly lightening edges.
Typical Cabernet nose with lots of dark fruit, cold black tea, some nougat and a hint of cinnamon in the distance.
On the palate, the first thing you notice is the very distinctive creaminess. This is accompanied by a dominant but in no way unpleasant acidity. The wine glides like a never-ending wave to an extremely long and delicate finish. Ultra delicious. And despite its youth, not at all fat and overloaded.
The bottle was a gift from owner Des Echavarrie at ProWein 2024. He and winemaker Britt Richards have created a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon that couldn't be more perfect for food pairing. I could imagine it with a truffle risotto with tenderloin.
The wine already tastes wonderful, but I would wait another three or four years before opening it. After that, another eight years without any problems.
